Crafting a Story Worthy of a Trusted Legacy Brand
As our friends at Penn Stone, a hardscaping and masonry supplier in Lancaster, PA, approached their 110th anniversary, TwoRoads worked with their team to share not only the anniversary news but also the story behind the company’s legacy as part of the Lancaster County community.
We began by crafting the full story of Penn Stone’s history. The long-form article gave us the space to demonstrate the values that built community trust in the business since the beginning, and why that trust continues to grow today.
Beautiful Visuals Carried The Message
Beautiful, nostalgic creative elements – like a celebratory logo and nod to the origin of the business with century-old photographs – served as an elegant backdrop to the Penn Stone story.
Visual storytelling is just as important as any other brand story element, and empowers distribution channels like newsletters, organic and paid social media, and web content.
The image of Penn Stone’s team from the early 1900’s taking a well-deserved break during the workday, leaning up against their truck after transporting brick throughout the city, shows the humans behind the brand and the role Penn Stone had in literally building Lancaster.
The custom anniversary logo, designed with bricks across the top, reinforced this nostalgia and the important role Penn Stone played, and continues to play, in the community. It also served as a creative device, allowing the story to travel across all of Penn Stone’s communications channels with consistency and recognition.

A Distribution Strategy Carried The Story Out Into the World
The history of Penn Stone is a memorable success story, but without the right distribution strategy, it would have gone unheard.
Our team focused on sharing the story across each of Penn Stone’s communications channels – from email marketing and social media posts to press outreach, billboard design, and web content. Together, they told the story cohesively.
And as you can imagine, these stories were some of Penn Stone’s most engaged-with content of 2024, across all channels.
Our team was honored to help share Penn Stone’s 110th Anniversary story with the community. We’d love to help you and your organization do the same. If you have a company anniversary story to tell, Let’s Chat.
