Sharing stories about organizations making a difference in the world is one of the great joys of being a storyteller.
For our team, the video story we created for Solomon’s United Church of Christ gave us all the feels.
Sure, the story is about the church adopting solar panels and how the panels would ultimately save the church money by lowering its energy bills.
But the impact of the story and their mission is so much more.
We had the privilege of interviewing Pastor Julia. She spoke about the impact her church makes not just within the congregation but across the entire community. Julia and other church members help to ensure that food-insecure families have healthy meals on their tables. They also provide a community garden that grows vegetables and native plants, giving members a source of healthy food and a place to come together.
The savings from the solar panels made these investments in the community possible. But the real story is the human impact that Pastor Julia and her congregation are making in the lives of everyone around them.
